Update Pocket CoBRA® 1.2 Software ERG Tool
Pocket CoBRA® 1.2 Hotfix 17 May 2006
Corrects an error in the isolation distance data in the CoBRA® ERG tool. The two columns labeled "First ISOLATE in all Directions" as subheadings under "SMALL SPILLS" and "LARGE SPILLS" are incorrect and should not be relied upon. In most cases, the numerical values presented are TOO SMALL, corresponding to distances in METERS, not FEET (as the columns are labeled).
The problem is resolved by replacing the ERG database (erg2000.cdb) in your Pocket CoBRA® installation.
Note: The updated database is 1.6MB in size. If downloading a file of this size is a problem for any reason, please contact CoBRA® Technical Support, 877.233.5789 (toll free) or email cobrasupport@defensegp.com, and we will mail you a CD.
To download and install the updated database, follow these instructions:
-
Uncompress the file you downloaded to a new folder (these instructions assume that you have a folder named ERGUpdater on your Desktop).
-
Connect your Windows Mobile Device to your computer.
-
Open ActiveSync and establish a connection to the mobile device.
-
Press the Explore button in ActiveSync to open a Windows explorer for your Mobile Device.
-
Double-click on the icon "My Windows Mobile-Based Device."
-
Navigate in this Windows explorer to \Program Files\PocketCoBRA\Resources\ERG.
-
There should be one file in this directory, named erg2000.cdb. Rename that file to erg2000.cdb.old (Note: while the file names contain the number "2000," the information contained in them is from the ERG 2004).
-
Open the "ERGUpdater" folder located on the Desktop.
-
Right-click on erg2000.cdb file located within that directory and view the file’s properties. If the box labeled "read-only" is checked, then uncheck it.
-
Drag the file "erg2000.cdb" from the "ERGUpdater" folder to the "\Program Files\PocketCoBRA\Resources\ERG" folder open within the explorer window opened from ActiveSync.
-
You may receive a warning message from ActiveSync stating that file conversion may be necessary. If you receive this message, press ok, the file copy will complete correctly.
-
Your Pocket CoBRA® should now be successfully updated with the corrected ERG 2004 Database.
-
You now may delete the ERGUpdater folder from your desktop.
