Homeland Security
Since the events of September 11, 2001 there has been intense interest in improving the United States’ capability to deter, detect or defeat potential terrorist threats on U.S. soil. Especially critical is avoiding the consequences of an attack using weapons of mass destruction (WMD)—chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high explosive weapons that could result in large-scale loss of life and major economic impact. Research is underway to counter such threats to the U.S. homeland, both by evolutionary improvements to current capabilities and by development of revolutionary, new capabilities.

Defense Group Inc. works as a partner with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in its priority effort to harness scientific and technological resources to provide the U.S. with both advanced technology and fielded capabilities to protect our homeland. DGI currently provides science, engineering and technical assistance to two major elements of DHS working to improve U.S. capability to handle the risks of a terrorist event.
