DGI Strategy for Solutions
Defense Group Inc. continues to work vigorously with the Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) to establish a flexible and adaptable Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) program. This program recognizes that technology is a crucial ingredient in the war on terror, especially as a counter to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). DHS S&T supports many customers with homeland security systems and technologies by carrying out RDT&E programs across the threat spectrum. Federal, State and Local entities, as well as private sector infrastructure owners and operators, depend on DHS and the DGI team members to help identify their technology needs, provide candidate solutions, and develop the means to deliver cost-sensitive products to the end-user community. The government and private sector, including First Responders, require improved technologies to counter today’s chemical, biological, radiological, explosive, cyber and physical threats. Moreover, they are counting on a visionary and innovative approach to delivering technologies for threats that may emerge in the future.
DGI staff members, working alongside their government counterparts, are instrumental in helping the government keep abreast of shifting needs and priorities and assist with the evolution of technologies, products and techniques to mitigate against the threat posed by WMD. DGI’s experienced and versatile staff provides a broad range of services that cover planning, design, acquisition, development, testing, and operational support. DGI personnel have been especially involved in helping develop countermeasures for chemical and biological weapons that might be used to threaten U.S. cities and population. As a premier technical support contractor, DGI is committed in helping our nation pursue a long-term strategy that will use technology to prevent, mitigate, and respond to terrorists' attacks.
