Bioagent Sensors and Biodefense Researchspores
A biological threat could be manifested in any of a number of organisms; bacteria in either vegetative or sporulated forms, RNA or DNA viruses, or eucaryotic cells such as protozoa or molds. Additionally, the threat could be a protein or other toxin derived from an organism. To counter such a wide array of possible threats, multiple routes of detection are needed. DGI has bioagent detection capability both with in-house technology and through partnerships.

A DGI subsidiary holds proprietary technology (U.S. and International patents filed) for broad based biological detections. This technology will emerge soon as a powerful new tool for national security as well as healthcare.

DGI has formed partnerships with some of the most respected names in biodefense technology. Through these partnerships, the synergies of capabilities promise continued progress to support the national defense effort.

  • Methodology and Apparatus for the Detection of Biological Substances—invention of a sensor unit for determining the presence of various biological substances as well as a system for analyzing the outputs of the sensors. Patent application filed with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO); international patent application filed.
  • Polycriteria Transitivity Process—a method of ranking and illustrating pairwise comparisons of various alternatives in the decision making process. Patent application filed with USPTO.
